An Open Letter to the Residents of the Chesters and the Mendhams

We are all blessed to live in such a beautiful and vibrant area of New Jersey under a framework of government embodied in the U.S. Constitution. In 1787 delegate John Adams predicted a glorious future for America under the new constitution and stated he was in “reverence and awe” at its prospects. Well Mr. Adams, through our eyes today your vision has come true.

We cherish our citizen legislators, we take pride in our communities, and we work to advocate the principles in our national Republican platform. We welcome volunteerism and support a solid dialogue on the issues and direction of our government at every level. When led by strong, thinking, dedicated individuals our government is indeed an inspiration to the world.

Our local municipalities produce leaders at every level of government. Our club seeks to cultivate such leaders and encourage their running for office. To that end, we host 7 topical general membership events during the year, 2 candidate events and one fine holiday party. We have set minimal lifetime dues to lower any perceived barriers to involvement.

All are welcome to participate and join us in furthering Republican principles. Our civic responsibility is not solely to win a political office but to be involved, to run for an office if you choose, and to engage in productive dialogue. Teddy Roosevelt shone light on those “who spend themselves in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”
